Overview
We are seeking an experienced Creative Director / Senior Creative Strategist to support a high-performing marketing and creative organization focused on audience engagement, storytelling, and campaign execution. This individual will serve as a senior-level individual contributor responsible for providing strategic creative direction across integrated campaigns while helping drive projects forward in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate combines strong creative vision with hands-on execution experience and thrives in cross-functional settings where storytelling, brand consistency, and operational efficiency are equally important. This role is best suited for someone who can influence creative outcomes, guide teams through complex initiatives, and deliver polished, audience-focused work across multiple channels.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic creative guidance across integrated marketing, content, design, video, and campaign initiatives
- Develop audience-first creative concepts and storytelling approaches aligned to brand and campaign objectives
- Ensure consistency, quality, and brand alignment across all creative deliverables and communication channels
- Translate business and marketing goals into compelling, cohesive multi-channel creative campaigns
- Support the development and refinement of strategic storytelling initiatives designed to increase engagement and awareness
- Maintain momentum across multiple concurrent creative projects while helping teams navigate workflows and approvals efficiently
- Collaborate closely with creative leadership, designers, writers, video teams, marketing stakeholders, and operational partners
- Identify and resolve creative or process-related roadblocks that may impact timelines, quality, or campaign execution
- Contribute innovative ideas and best practices that enhance storytelling effectiveness and audience engagement
- Provide thoughtful creative input and direction without direct people management responsibilities
Required Skills
- 10+ years of experience in creative strategy, creative direction, integrated marketing, brand marketing, or related fields
- Strong portfolio showcasing:
- Multi-channel marketing campaigns
- Strategic storytelling and brand development
- High-quality creative execution across complex initiatives
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat
- Strong presentation and communication skills using PowerPoint, Keynote, or similar tools
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and stakeholder groups
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously within deadline-driven environments
- Ability to influence creative direction and drive alignment without formal supervisory authority
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting fundraising, donor engagement, awareness, or mission-driven campaigns
- Background working within large or matrixed organizations
- Familiarity with workflow and project management platforms such as Jira, Smartsheet, or similar tools
- Experience improving creative workflows, operational efficiency, or campaign effectiveness
- Passion for storytelling, audience engagement, and delivering impactful creative work
