Job Title: Salesforce Platform Architect
Location: Remote
Overview
We are seeking a Salesforce Platform Architect to own and advance the architecture, administration, governance, integration strategy, and long-term scalability of an enterprise Salesforce environment. This role requires a strong technical architect who can establish platform standards and roadmaps while remaining comfortable reviewing code, troubleshooting issues, coaching delivery teams, and providing hands-on administrative support when needed.
Key Responsibilities

Define Salesforce architecture strategies, standards, governance practices, reference models, roadmaps, and future-state designs.

Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable Salesforce solutions.

Ensure the platform supports interoperability, data governance, security, reliability, and evolving business and technology priorities.

Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot critical issues, and review solution designs and code.

Coordinate changes across multiple Salesforce clouds and connected applications.
-
Guide API-first integration strategies involving MuleSoft, middleware, messaging infrastructure, and related integration patterns.

Define CI/CD pipelines and oversee release automation using Azure DevOps, Gearset, GitHub, testing automation, or similar supported tooling.

Manage Salesforce environments, sandboxes, release processes, technical documentation, and communication of platform changes.

Govern user and license administration, including roles, profiles, permissions, public groups, organization-wide defaults, and sharing rules.

Oversee Salesforce configuration, including Flow, approval processes, assignment rules, fields, page layouts, record types, apps, actions, reports, and dashboards.

Improve data quality and platform reliability through validation rules, automation, proactive maintenance, security reviews, release evaluations, health checks, and Salesforce Optimizer reviews.

Support user adoption through ticket resolution, training, stakeholder communication, and clear explanations of design options and impacts.

Establish reusable data models and governance practices that promote consistency across teams using the platform.

Provide architectural guidance to product teams, delivery partners, managed service providers, vendors, and third-party application providers.

Coach technical teams on Salesforce best practices and step into hands-on work when critical issues require direct support.

Evaluate the architectural implications of platform upgrades and technical changes.

Apply Agile and waterfall delivery practices as appropriate, including work managed through Azure DevOps.
Required Qualifications
-
Degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent technical experience.

Typically 10 or more years of IT experience, including more than five years working with Salesforce as a primary platform.

Strong Salesforce product knowledge and hands-on Salesforce administration experience.
-
Salesforce Certified Administrator.

Experience designing Salesforce platform architecture, target-state solutions, technical roadmaps, architecture principles, and governance standards.

Experience with Salesforce Manufacturing Cloud, Sales Cloud, and Service Cloud.

Experience with MuleSoft and Salesforce integration architecture.

Experience with Gearset or similar Salesforce DevOps and release-management tooling.

Understanding of APIs, middleware, messaging, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and integrations between Salesforce and connected applications.

Experience managing Salesforce security, permissions, sharing models, environments, releases, configuration, data quality, and platform reliability.

Ability to monitor and troubleshoot Salesforce environments and review technical designs and code.

Experience conducting architecture reviews, technology evaluations, current-state assessments, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.

Knowledge of Agile and waterfall delivery methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts, architecture decisions, risks, and design options to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Ability to establish standards, influence delivery teams, manage change, resolve competing priorities, and operate effectively in an evolving environment.

Willingness to balance strategic architecture responsibilities with administrative and hands-on platform support when needed.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Salesforce Maps, or CRM Analytics.

Additional Salesforce certifications, such as Platform Integration Architect or Platform Developer.

Experience with GitHub and automated testing frameworks.

Experience communicating architecture standards and educating technical teams on platform best practices.
