Job Description

Job Purpose

The Media Lead is accountable for the strategic oversight of cross-channel Digital and TV advertising campaigns. They act as a liaison between the Media Strategy and Media Activation teams to ensure campaign success. Media Leads use data to craft the narrative around cross-channel media performance, including providing relevant context and actionable insights tailored to multiple levels of the organization - from cross-functional working teams to senior leadership.

Essential Job Functions

Media Mix Optimization - (20% of time):

  • Monitors and provides insight into daily campaign performance & flags actionable, high-level KPI trend shifts to appropriate teams
  • Leads data-driven optimization discussions with Media Activation & Strategy teams to ensure cross-channel budgets and performance are maximized
  • Identifies opportunities to use platform-specific testing across campaigns and works closely with other teams to execute on those tests

Storytelling, Communication & Reporting - (20% of time):

  • Regularly provides relevant campaign performance, context, and actionable insights to senior leadership
  • Foresees and proactively addresses misalignments between expectations and actual performance of marketing campaign results
  • Ensures & facilitates cross-channel communication both internally & externally

Tactical Planning - (15% of time):

  • Establishes budgets and forecast targets per channel in coordination with Media Strategists and Channel Leads
  • Establishes and updates achievable KPI goals across all channels based on overall campaign goals
  • Proactively identifies potential incremental investment- and campaign opportunities in the media landscape

Ad Operations - (10% of time):

  • Functions as an internal data broker for Analytics team, accountable for providing accurate data for dashboards/Excel trackers
  • Ensures measurement and reporting consistency in all campaigns across Media Activation and Strategy teams
  • Facilitates pixel creation & site tagging requests

Project Management/Meetings - (35% of time):

  • Collaborates with Channel Leads to maintain and adjust timing of deliverables for team at large, communicating changes to Media Strategy team, Directors, and senior leadership
  • Provides final sign off on specs documents and confirm all materials are received from Media Strategy team upon campaign hand-off meetings

Other Job Functions

    • Perform other various job functions to promote operational excellence as assigned.
    • Perform job duties as assigned as part of Organization’s Business Continuity Management Program, including annual maintenance and testing of business continuity, disaster recovery and emergency response plans.

CORE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of experience managing TV and/or Digital Campaigns with budgets greater than $5M per year
  • Advanced quantitative skills and aptitude including advanced Excel skills – beyond pivot tables, creating charts, vlookups, sumifs, etc.; working knowledge in Enterprise Data Visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Data Studio) a plus
  • A left and right brain thinker – a data powered strategist
  • Exhibits the ability to draw and effectively communicate insights from multiple information sources
  • Strong understanding of advanced analytics, media mix & attribution modeling and performance media; ability to analyze large data sets to provide insight and expertise on digital media executions
