Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to support day-to-day procurement operations within a fast-paced manufacturing and operations environment. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective purchasing of goods and services. The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in purchasing fundamentals, strong communication skills, and experience working within structured procurement systems.
This is an onsite role supporting operational and project-based purchasing activities.
Responsibilities

Serve as a primary purchasing resource and first point of support for operational teams

Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness and place orders with approved suppliers

Process requisitions and generate purchase orders in accordance with established procurement procedures

Partner cross-functionally with teams such as operations, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and service

Manage relationships between internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure smooth execution of purchases

Support sourcing activities for goods and services not covered by existing contracts, including supplier evaluation and negotiation when needed

Ensure adherence to procurement policies, compliance standards, and contract terms

Track purchase orders through completion and follow up on delivery, pricing, and service issues

Identify opportunities for cost savings, spend consolidation, and process improvement through analysis and reporting

Resolve pricing discrepancies, supplier inquiries, disputes, and payment issues

Participate in supplier performance reviews and feedback processes

Assist with special projects and reporting requests as assigned by management
Required Skills

Experience using ERP and procure-to-pay systems such as Oracle, Ariba, or similar platforms

Working knowledge of purchasing and procurement fundamentals

Ability to read, interpret, and apply contract terms and conditions

Strong analytical skills to assess cost effectiveness and purchasing options

Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners

Effective interpersonal and communication skills

High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to issue resolution
Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting procurement operations in a manufacturing, operations, or project-driven environment

Exposure to supplier negotiations, performance tracking, or cost-reduction initiatives

Comfort working in a structured, policy-driven procurement organization
