Overview

We are partnering with a growing engineering firm to identify a Lead Electrical Engineer to join their team onsite in Tennessee. This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer who enjoys both technical design and project oversight.

This role will serve as a key contributor across commercial, mixed-use, and industrial projects, providing technical direction, quality oversight, and coordination across disciplines. The ideal candidate is confident leading projects, mentoring junior staff, and serving as a technical point of contact for clients and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and quality oversight for electrical engineering deliverables across multiple projects

  • Serve as Engineer of Record as appropriate

  • Manage project responsibilities including cost estimating, scheduling, and resource planning

  • Establish and enhance electrical engineering standards, best practices, and technical guidelines

  • Review design documentation to ensure compliance with applicable codes and industry standards

  • Provide mentorship, training, and development support to junior engineering staff

  • Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and code officials

  • Offer technical recommendations and cost-conscious solutions throughout project lifecycles

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in electrical engineering

  • Ability to qualify for professional licensure in the state of Tennessee

  • Strong project management capabilities

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Strong understanding of electrical design codes and standards

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • Licensure in multiple states

  • Experience designing commercial, mixed-use, or industrial facilities

  • Prior experience providing technical oversight or mentoring junior engineers
