Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager of Strategic Sourcing to lead procurement strategy, supplier optimization, and sourcing initiatives within a large, complex operational environment. This role is responsible for driving value across a broad supplier network, improving catalog purchasing strategies, and partnering cross-functionally to enhance supply chain performance.
The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with a proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and deliver measurable results in a dynamic, data-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize supplier performance, reduce costs, and mitigate risk
- Drive supplier consolidation efforts and strengthen relationships with key strategic partners
- Oversee catalog management processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and user adoption
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify sourcing opportunities and enhance procurement processes
- Analyze spend data, supplier performance, and market trends to inform sourcing strategies and decision-making
- Lead negotiations with suppliers using a total cost of ownership approach to secure best-in-class terms
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
- Support supplier performance management initiatives, including business reviews and continuous improvement efforts
- Identify and implement process improvements across the supply chain to eliminate waste and increase operational effectiveness
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align sourcing strategies with broader business objectives
Required Skills
- Deep expertise in strategic sourcing, procurement processes, and supplier management
- Strong leadership experience with a track record of building and managing teams
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Proven negotiation skills with experience in cost optimization and contract management
- Experience with ERP systems and procurement tools, including sourcing platforms and analytics/reporting solutions
- Strong understanding of market dynamics, cost drivers, and supply chain operations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels of an organization
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel capabilities
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while maintaining a results-driven mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in catalog management or high-volume procurement environments
- Background in manufacturing, industrial, or product-based organizations
- Advanced degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
- Professional certifications in supply chain, procurement, or process improvement (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP)
