Overview

A nationally recognized mission-driven organization is seeking a UX Research Specialist to support a high-impact digital experience initiative focused on improving customer and donor engagement across key digital channels. This short-term contract opportunity is ideal for a research professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and can independently uncover actionable insights that influence product and experience decisions.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze existing research, behavioral data, analytics, and customer journey insights across web and mobile experiences. The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of qualitative and quantitative research expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This position can be performed remotely or onsite in the Memphis, TN area.

Responsibilities

  • Review and synthesize existing product analytics, customer experience metrics, behavioral insights, and prior research across digital touchpoints
  • Partner closely with product, UX, analytics, experimentation, and business stakeholders to identify friction points and opportunity areas
  • Translate complex research findings into concise, actionable recommendations that support product and experience improvements
  • Support journey mapping and end-to-end experience analysis across web, mobile, and transactional experiences
  • Explore and evaluate AI-enabled research methods, including the use of synthetic personas and AI-assisted insight generation
  • Identify knowledge gaps and recommend areas where additional research or validation may be needed
  • Present findings and strategic recommendations to cross-functional teams and leadership stakeholders

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in UX research, service design, journey mapping, or human-centered design research
  • Strong experience conducting and synthesizing both qualitative and quantitative research
  • Experience leveraging product analytics and experience metrics to uncover user friction and optimization opportunities
  • Background supporting digital product experiences across web, mobile applications, and/or transactional workflows
  • Excellent communication, synthesis, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality insights within a fast-moving environment
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional product and business teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting customer or donor journey optimization initiatives
  • Familiarity with AI-supported research workflows, synthetic personas, or emerging AI-enabled research methodologies
  • Experience working within agile product or experimentation environments
