Job Title: Salesforce IT Business Analyst
Location: Remote
Overview
The Salesforce IT Business Analyst will bridge business stakeholders, product owners, and technical delivery teams. This role translates business needs into functional and technical requirements, develops user stories, supports Salesforce configuration, and helps validate solutions through testing and quality assurance. The position requires strong business analysis capabilities, hands-on Salesforce experience, and the ability to explain both the business context and technical impact of proposed changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate business and customer objectives into clear functional and technical requirements.
- Develop detailed user stories that communicate business context, expected outcomes, and system needs.
- Facilitate requirements discussions involving technical systems, data relationships, entity relationship models, and integration design.
- Define system scope and objectives based on user needs, business processes, and industry requirements.
- Analyze end-to-end system behavior and identify the downstream functional impact of proposed changes.
- Support business-process redesign and documentation for new and enhanced technology solutions.
- Assist with Salesforce platform configuration and contribute technical insight to solution requirements and builds.
- Create wireframes when needed to validate user experience and solution design.
- Lead or assist with user acceptance testing and confirm that delivered solutions meet business requirements.
- Help product owners evaluate scope changes and recommend appropriate next steps.
- Provide technical teams and external delivery partners with the business context behind user stories, features, and projects.
- Partner with business stakeholders as an advisor on solutions that support desired business outcomes.
- Provide end-user support and training, collect feedback, and promote platform adoption and user-experience best practices.
- Support platform reliability, security, and the reduction of technical debt by following established architecture and security standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, business, or another technical field.
- At least four years of IT experience.
- One to three years of experience in business analysis, product management, or another relevant technical or functional role.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce, including Salesforce Manufacturing Cloud and Salesforce Sales and Service Clouds.
- Experience translating high-level business requirements into functional or technical specifications and user stories.
- Strong understanding of business processes, systems analysis, data relationships, integration design, and downstream system impacts.
- Experience supporting platform configuration, solution validation, testing, or quality assurance.
- Experience leading or assisting with user acceptance testing.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work across business and technical teams.
- Ability to manage changing scope, ambiguous requirements, and competing priorities.
- Experience with MuleSoft.
Preferred Qualifications
- Salesforce certifications.
- Experience supporting IT systems within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Salesforce Maps, or CRM Analytics.
- Experience with SQL or related database technologies.
- Experience with custom web or mobile applications.
- Development or coding experience that can support solution requirements and platform builds.
- Experience creating wireframes to validate user experience and solution design.
