The role also includes work with Backstage developer portals, React micro-frontends, MuleSoft integrations, and engineering metrics tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and operate CDC pipelines that capture SQL database changes with Debezium and publish events to Kafka topics.
  • Create reusable implementation patterns and self-service workflows that simplify event-streaming adoption.
  • Enhance Backstage plugins, templates, scaffolding workflows, service catalogs, and developer documentation.
  • Upgrade and improve a React-based micro-frontend framework, with attention to maintainability and developer usability.
  • Support MuleSoft platform upgrades, API lifecycle activities, observability, and secure deployments.
  • Configure and maintain engineering metrics tools, including custom integrations and metrics.
  • Help engineering teams troubleshoot platform issues, adopt shared tools, and implement integrations.

Required Qualifications

  • Five or more years of relevant software engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures.

  • Software development experience with TypeScript and React.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including explaining technical decisions and working across IT teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and support other engineering teams.
  • Proactive communication of questions, concerns, and technical issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing CDC with Debezium and Kafka.
  • Experience with Backstage plugins, templates, scaffolding, or service catalogs.
  • Experience supporting React-based micro-frontend frameworks.
  • MuleSoft platform operations or integration development experience.
  • Experience creating developer self-service tools, reusable engineering patterns, and technical documentation.
